A habit tracker with flexible timer & counter modes

Not every habit fits into a simple done checkbox. MicroHabit supports discrete unit counting and duration timers alongside check-offs. Keep recording past your daily target, review rolling 30-day progress, and never lose your history to an arbitrary streak reset.

Recording formats

Three straightforward ways to record your habits

  1. Simple check-off (Binary)

Mark yes/no actions done with a single tap. Ideal for routine habits like opening the curtains or brushing teeth.

  2. Numeric counter with custom units

Track measurable quantities such as glasses of water, pages read, or physical reps. Increment by one tap or edit amounts directly.

  3. Integrated activity timer (Duration)

Start, pause, and resume a timer directly from Today or the widget. Great for two-minute stretches, five-minute reading sessions, or meditation.

  4. A target, not a ceiling

When you have extra momentum, keep recording. Counts and timers preserve the actual amount completed even after reaching 100% of your daily goal.

  5. Rolling 30-day progress calculation

Each completed action feeds into your rolling 30-day percentage. Missing a day alters the completion rate without resetting your hard-earned progress.

Thoughtful mechanics

Designed for honest, calm reflection

Custom units and presets

Choose preset units such as cups, pages, sheets, or times, or create custom labels that accurately reflect what you are measuring.

No streak counter to baby

MicroHabit does not feature streak counters. Missing a day is treated as normal life variance rather than an all-or-nothing failure.

Private, on-device database

All timestamps, count increments, and duration records reside in a local SQLite database on your device. MicroHabit collects no tracking or analytics data.

Straightforward Free and Pro pricing

Free includes five active habits and Weekly Progress. An optional one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited active habits and Day Review. There is no recurring subscription.

Questions

Timer & counter habit FAQ

Can I log more than my daily target?

Yes. If your target is 5 pages and you read 12, MicroHabit records the full 12 pages. The target marks completion, but does not cap your log.

Can I pause and resume the timer?

Yes. You can start, pause, and resume the timer throughout the day until you reach or exceed your target duration.

Can I increment counts from the Home Screen widget?

Yes. Interactive widgets on iPhone and Android allow you to increment counts directly without launching the full app.

Is there a subscription fee?

No. MicroHabit is free for up to five active habits. Pro is an optional one-time purchase with no recurring fees or trials.
