Falling Sand

A sand puzzle for iPhone

Blocks become sand.

Drop a block and watch it break into colored sand. Connect sand of the same color from the left wall to the right wall to clear it—and make room for your next move.

Falling Sand is preparing for its first App Store submission. It is not yet available for public download.

One color. Wall to wall.

You are not filling rows of blocks. You are joining the sand they leave behind.

  1. Choose where it lands

Drag a block from the tray into the board. Release it where you want it to fall.

  2. Let the sand settle

The block becomes colored grains on landing. They fall and settle around the pile, changing the shape of your next move.

  3. Connect matching colors

Join sand of one color from the left wall to the right wall. That connected sand clears, opening space for the next drop.

Two colors. One block.

A new twist at 3,000 points.

Multicolor blocks enter play in the third tray slot of each group. Plan where both colors will settle, and how each can connect with the sand below.

Chain your clears
After a clear, the remaining sand settles again. If it makes another wall-to-wall connection, the chain continues and boosts your score.
Beat your own best
Keep your personal best in sight. Try a different placement, build a longer chain, and give the next run something to aim for.
