PDF Tools Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Tools for iPhone and iPad, provided by Shanghai VeloTract Information Technology Co., Ltd. (上海轻引信息技术有限公司) ("we," "our," or "us"). PDF Tools is designed to process PDF files on your device and does not require an account.
2. Files and App Data on Your Device
When you choose files from Files or Photos, PDF Tools reads the selected PDF or image files and copies the material it needs into temporary app storage for processing. File contents, file names, page thumbnails, document text, passwords, and selected paths are not uploaded to our servers and are not placed in a server queue.
If a system file provider needs to download or prepare a selected item, that provider handles the request under its own terms. PDF Tools does not provide developer-operated cloud sync or an account service for your documents.
3. Purchases and Apple Services
PDF Tools Pro is purchased and restored through Apple using StoreKit. Apple handles the App Store transaction and may require an internet connection and the Apple Account used for the purchase. The app receives limited purchase and entitlement information needed to provide and restore Pro. Payment credentials are handled by Apple and are not provided to us.
4. Information We Do Not Collect Through the App
Other than StoreKit requests to Apple described above, the current iOS release target does not send product analytics, usage metrics, crash reports, remote diagnostic events, persistent device identifiers, or location data to VeloTract or its service providers. It does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and it does not use app data for cross-company tracking or data-broker sharing.
Any permitted operational diagnostics are local to the device and must not contain document content, file paths, file names, passwords, or document text.
5. Sharing and Tracking
PDF Tools does not sell, share, or disclose your selected files or local app data to advertising networks, data brokers, or other companies for tracking. If you choose to save or share a result, the copy is sent to the destination you select through the system interface, and that destination's privacy practices apply.
6. Retention and Deletion
Temporary processing files are kept in the app's local cache while a job needs them. You can use Settings → Temporary files → Clean Up Now, and the app also cleans up unleased temporary jobs during launch. Files you save or share remain wherever you choose to place them until you delete those copies.
Removing PDF Tools removes the app's local cache, settings, and locally stored entitlement state from that device. It does not remove copies you saved to Files, Photos, or another destination, and App Store purchases remain managed by Apple.
7. Your Choices
You choose which files to open, whether to save or share a result, whether to purchase Pro, and when to clean temporary files. No account or privacy-choice dashboard is required for the app's core features. To ask a question or report a problem, contact us at ios.feedback@velotract.com.
