Loft Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Loft app for iPhone, provided by Shanghai VeloTract Information Technology Co., Ltd. (上海轻引信息技术有限公司) ("we," "our," or "us"). If you have any questions, contact us at contact@velotract.com.

1. On-Device Processing

Loft is a local-first reader. The Markdown text you paste and the files you open are processed entirely on your device. Our servers never receive your document content.

2. Purchases

Loft Pro is an optional, non-consumable one-time purchase with no subscription. Apple processes purchases and restorations through the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card details. Loft uses Apple's verified entitlement only to unlock Loft Pro.

3. Information We Collect

Analytics and diagnostics in Loft are off by default and are only enabled with your explicit consent. The app is fully functional without them.

If you consent, the app collects:

Product interaction data, such as app launches, reading progress, and session duration
Performance and crash diagnostics, including timing data, predefined failure categories, and redacted technical crash information
Technical app, operating-system, device, network, locale, time-zone, and session information
A random identifier for this app installation
An approximate country or region associated with analytics requests; Loft does not use Location Services or GPS

Analytics and diagnostics do not include your Markdown content, file names, paths, links, content hashes, or share targets.

4. Online Privacy Policy

When you choose to view this policy in Loft, the app loads it from our website. That request does not include your Markdown or local files. See our Website Privacy Policy for how the website handles standard web-request data.

5. How We Use and Share Information

We use this information to understand how Loft is used, maintain reliability, and improve the app. A service provider processes it on our behalf for those purposes.

Your data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with data brokers. We do not engage in cross-company tracking.

6. Retention and Deletion

We retain analytics and diagnostic information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and improve Loft or to meet legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing contact@velotract.com. We will delete information we can reasonably identify unless we must retain it by law. Because Loft has no accounts, we may ask for information needed to locate the relevant installation data.

7. Your Choices

You can turn analytics and diagnostics off at any time in Settings. Turning them off stops future collection and does not affect Loft's functionality. It does not automatically delete information already sent; you can request deletion as described above.
